Sunday, September 7, from 2-5pm join the JCHS Board of Trustees and representatives from the Northern New York Community Foundation as we celebrate 25 years of garden beauty. Food, beverages and music. $25 donation per person. For tickets, stop by the museum during normal operating hours, or mail your registration using our printable mail form.

Nostrums of the North Country

Nostrums of the North Country explores the by-gone era of patent medicines. These fantastic cure-alls promised to remedy wide varieties of ailments from hay fever to asthma, anxiety, marital problems, and addictions, sometimes with disastrous results. The exhibition focuses on the ingredients, claims and regulations of these medicines, and their manufacture in northern New York.

Getting to the Museum:
Take I-81 Exit 45, and then Arsenal Street toward downtown Watertown. Turn right at Public Square onto Washington Street. Drive one block south. Museum is on the right. Public parking is accessible from Stone or Clinton Streets.
